Vladimír Popovič is a highly respected Slovak painter and visual artist.
He has been ceaselessly creative for over fifty years and his works are held by
art galleries, museums, businesses and individuals worldwide.
In his own words, Vladimír describes himself as “... a relentless seeker of
miracles of human life, a mystic, a painter and a ‘rainmaker’”.
Apart from painting and drawing, had pioneered the use of crumpled paper, enamel
and other unusual techniques well before they became commonplace.
Later, as a professor at the Slovak Academy
of Fine Arts and Design he guided and motivated a new generation of artists
over a period of 17 years.
Vladimír continues to work prolifically in his studio in Bratislava.
LATEST: At the annual awards ceremony on 19th November 2011, the Tatra Bank Foundation awarded its Main Prize in Fine Art 2011 to Vladimír
for his "Déjà vu" solo exhibition that was held at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art
Museum earlier this year.
